Look of the Moment - Winter 2010

Hi Makeup lovers, welcome to ellie makeup's first EVER blog entry.

We are excited (to say the least) to join all the other bloggers out there and add our take on makeup, tips, trends, models we love, looks we love, what to do, what not to do, and all the ins and outs of makeup and beauty and glamour.

Lets look at what Trends are in for Winter 2010.

These trends were seen on the Runway all over Europe and New York.

LIPS are Sensual, Siren-Red that surprise and excite

Anyone would kill to have Iris' perfect pouty lips...

To achieve lips like Iris' perfect pout, always remember to line your lips ensuring you do not make any errors! Pout your mouth slightly while you work the liner around your mouth and create a subtle shape if you are lacking in that department!

You can even fill in your lips with the liner for extra staying power.
Take your Deep Red, Berry, Burnt Orange or whatever Winter colour you feel like wearing and fill in the main area of your lips with the lipstick. It is advisable to use a lip brush to perfect the edges of your lips and create the perfect pout. Mwah!

BROWS are the ultimate face makers - arched and perfectly groomed in strong shades

Kasia's brows are groomed to perfection...
Brows play an important role in framing our face and eyes. If you your brows have "stopped growing" over you have merely over plucked (! - I see it all the time - go easy on those tweezers ladies or let a professional take over), you want to ensure you achieve a strong yet NATURAL brow that sits well on your face.

Some people love a good brow pencil and I also like to use a brow shader and fill in the empty spaces of the brow and follow the natural shape of the brow and enhance them even further.
A good tip is to not over arch them and keep the inner part of the brow closer to the bridge of the nose (without giving yourself a mono brow).

Sweep the edge of the brow so it angles perfectly to the egde of your eye. Et Voila, beautiful brows!

EYES are up all night - dark, smudgy and luminous

Agyness and Jessica both carry this look well...By the way - this Fendi bag is HOT HOT HOT - Chain is back and Fendi is always back!

The smoky eye look is one of THE most popular looks I get clients asking for every time.
It suits most people and it really is all about using the right amount and ensuring you create the smoky eye that suits YOUR face, not Agyness' or Jessica's!

A classic smoky eye has the basic deep brown, black, charcoal, usually matte eye shadow colour swept across the entire mobile lid (the almond part of the eye) and then blended upwards to nothing with a clean brush and perhaps a beige taupe shadow colour to diminish any lines. Remember to blend blend blend, no harsh edges!

A black soft eye pencil can rim the eyes both top and inner lower rim and lower lash line area; then soften with a blender brush. You can also use a gel liner (if you know how! - more on gel liners at a later date) instead.

Lashings of mascara top and bottom and your ready to go. Sometimes a creme highlighter on the brow bone and inner eye makes the eye POP that little bit extra too.

Makeup as an art form - Gutsy Glamour - Witty and Provocative

Chanel can take on any look...

Winter Trends are what you make of it ladies. Pick a strong feature of your face or one you like and make it the focal point. Play it up and wear your makeup with confidence... that is the key to looking and feeling a million bucks!

Just remember:

POLISHED, GLAMIFIED AND LUXE

There's our glam fix for the day. See you soon!
